Skin And Hair Care Tips – Pre And Post Holi

Skin and hair care tips- Pre and Post holi

Today, by the title you know what I will be talking about. It is holi time. And I know you will be planning your holi parties and making a group with your friends to play holi. Deciding on what to wear, discussing with your besties. I even know you have always struggled with the damage that holi colors bring to your hair and skin. Nowadays, holi colors are so harsh for skin and hair that you should take care of them before it’s too late.

Without any further delay let’s see what you should do Pre and Post holi to take care of your skin and hair.

Pre holi skin and hair care:

Apply a good amount of coconut oil to your hair. Don’t care how you look because you are protecting your hair from damage. Coconut oil is moisturizing and very hydrating for your hair. I like Parachute coconut oil which can be found easily in our shelves.
For your body, apply any thick butter like this one The Body Shop Wild Argan Oil Body Butter. It is very thick and nourishing for your body. Argan oil in this body butter moisturizes very well. If you don’t have any body butter don’t worry, you can use any body oils and massage that well on your skin.
Since you will be out in the sun the whole day playing holi, it is must that you apply a sunscreen. I recommend using a sunscreen with high SPF like Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunblock SPF 50. It will protect you from sun damage and is very light in texture.

Now there are two things that are left to be protected, lips and nails. Protect your lips with a good lip balm containing SPF. For your nails, apply a base coat to protect nails from any color stains because you are going to pick all of the colors using your hands and nails are going to get more damage.

  1. Avene lip balm
  2. The ONE base coat

Post holi skin and hair care:

Wash off your hair using a mild shampoo like the one from Aloe veda – Aloe veda mild nourishing shampoo. It will nourish your hair and cleanse as well. Your hair is already much damaged so this mild shampoo is a good option for post holi haircare. Later use a good intense moisturizer for all that damage hair has gone through. I love using Bblunt intense moisture conditioner.

To remove all colors from your body use a scrub. The Body shop British Rose Body Scrub is very good option. The small granules in this scrub will help you remove all the colors from your body and since you had applied body butter previously, it will be easy to remove colors.

It is very important to exfoliate your face and remove the colors from the face. Use a mild cleanser like this one Neutrogena deep clean facial cleanser. It will remove all color and impurities from face yet being gentle on skin. Apply a good moisturizer to give back the hydration.

Some tips:

Cover your body in whole with light clothes if you want more protection. Never go for denim those get heavy in the water and you won’t like it.

Never wear lens during holi. This will irritate your eyes and eyes are sensitive.
I wish you all a very happy and safe holi. Bring in the colors to your life and achieve your goals with flying colors.

Bura na mano, Holi hai!!!!
